About the Role
Joining the team in a stage of rapid growth, you’ll take Marin content to the next level – you’re the creative storyteller and editing execution through which the brand comes to life on social. In this role, you’ll co-develop and own execution for the social content strategy, working collaboratively with the Founders and Marketing team to create rich, immersive, engaging content that builds community and drives viral growth.
Everything, everyone, every moment and every launch is a story - it’s your job to tell them in a world-class manner, in every format. From ideating, producing, and iterating on weekly TikTok video series and crafting a magnetically engaging Instagram presence, to generating ad creatives for an upcoming launch, your role will be a dynamic blend of collaboration and independence. Content and Social are integral components of the business – you’re at the forefront of customer experience and breathe life into how the brand is perceived on a daily basis.
While every day is a new adventure and a cross-platform mindset is a must, the focus areas of this role are Instagram (40%), TikTok (40%), and New Platforms Social Ad Creation (20%), with the ultimate goal of building a unicorn-brand level social presence, deeply engaging with and growing our community, and helping hit ambitious growth targets.
About You
You are THE outside-the-box social creative powerhouse that lives and breathes IG and TikTok, are excited to blow up the next big skincare brand, and have an eye for ‘content moments’ while being scrappy and nimble in cranking out a video or engaging story. You’re a natural storyteller that deeply understands communication hierarchies and can execute across all facets (eg long and short form video, IG carousels and stories, etc). You’ll bring the demonstrated experience and capacity from previous roles in Social, DTC and/or CPG creating, editing, facilitating, and strategizing all things content.
While a strong creative, you also have a marketing mind that loves brands, launches and campaigns. You can quickly relate to and understand brand positioning, can extend this into crafting visual presence and identity, and rapidly iterate to test, learn and grow. You appreciate the thoughtful ingredients of an engaging, “rich” post, the small-but-impactful editing tweaks that make an ad creative perform or a video go viral, and you aren’t afraid to experiment with unconventional ideas. You have a finger on the pulse for what’s going on across the social landscape, combined with a deep understanding of customer personas, and can seamlessly blend the two into creative tactics to reach them in the right way, time and place.

Position Reports To
Chief Executive Officer / Head of Marketing
Responsibilities
- Co-develop and execute the social media content strategy and campaigns across TikTok, IG and all social platforms.
- Own content creation for all social channels, with a focus on rapid TikTok growth and a world-class Instagram presence.
- Generate unique, engaging, high-converting static and video creatives for all social channels
- Assist in forging relationships with brand ambassadors, affiliates, creators and micro-influencers to build and grow the Marin community.
- Maintain a high frequency social posting cadence across TikTok, IG and all social platforms.
- Work with Founders & Marketing team to produce campaign or launch-specific content for organic and paid social (e.g. Product Launches, Partnerships, etc).
- Constantly monitor the social landscape, staying up to date with trends and spotting opportunities for virality, newsjacking, and forging disruptive partnerships
- Weekly, monthly and quarterly reporting on data, results, and strategy recommendations to Leadership team, Board and stakeholders.
Experience and Skills Required
- 3-5 years Social Media experience with portfolio or clear demonstration of ability to generate creative, engaging content with a point of view, and deployed in a meaningfully unique way to drive growth and engagement on TikTok and Instagram
- Have a deep understanding of the TikTok and Instagram platforms, best practices, trends, and know confidently how to captivate, grow and engage an audience
- Creative, out-of-the-box thinker with an eye and passion for creating and storytelling through video and static content, who’s not afraid to experiment and is in tune with trends, with the ability to spot “content moments”/creative opportunities and execute swiftly on them
- Be a driven, coachable self-starter with a great sense of humor, who’s as confidently ambitious as thoughtfully humble; Ready to learn, grow and enjoy the ride
- Bring an “anything is figureoutable” and “anything is possible” mindset, who’s not afraid to try new things and think outside the box
- Capable of self-managing projects under tight deadlines, and be self-sovereign in bringing the brand to life with video content (be capable of both individually and collaboratively developing content ideas, but being ultimately responsible for ideation to editing to execution)
- Have a cross-platform mindset, able to see positioning/repurposing strategies for TikTok content across Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and Pinterest
- Have strong written and verbal communication skills, able to communicate effectively with our audience, stakeholders and Marin team members
- Must be an ambitious, passionate person that is energized by fast-paced environments
- 3-5 years in DTC (Ideally CPG)
- Experience working on a small, scrappy team or startup.
- Experience generating ad creatives for a DTC/E-Commerce brand
- Experience with Canva, Adobe CC, videography and video editing
- Comfortable on-camera and able to be part of Marin content
- Experience with Monday.com, or similar project management tools
