What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Technician- 2nd shift position at MARINA INN AT GRANDE DUNES?
PRIMARY PURPOSE: To maintain the hotel’s customer and hotel areas in accordance with company standards by performing preventative maintenance and repairs as necessary.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responds to both customer and hotel staff reports of non-functioning equipment immediately.
- Maintains room in optimal operating condition by performing repairs as needed.
- Understands and implements preventative maintenance.
- Prepares preventative maintenance cart for use each day.
- Replaces or repairs damaged bathroom fixtures and executes general plumbing as needed.
- Maintains the overall appearance of the room; hangs fixtures, wall & ceiling repair, painting & touch-up.
- Uses both power and hand tools regularly in a safe and efficient manner.
- Performs preventative maintenance throughout the hotel as well, including both the front and the back of the house.
- Maintains the condition of the lobbies and other areas.
- Repairs furniture and decorations as necessary.
- Repairs carpet, marble, tile, vinyl, sheetrock, paint, etc.
- Maintains operating equipment in working condition by performing routine equipment checks and repairs.
- Maintains cleanliness of individual work area and storage rooms
JOB SETTING AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Employees in this position may work indoors or outdoors. To perform the job successfully the candidate must be able to see differences between colors, shades, and brightness, hear sounds and recognize the difference between them, focus on one source of sound and ignore others, use fingers to grasp, move, or assemble very small objects, make quick, precise adjustments to machine controls, determine the distance between objects, adjust body movements or equipment controls to keep pace with speed changes of moving objects. Fluency in the English language and the ability to speak, hear, read and write are required as is the ability to work any hours/days of the week, if necessary to meet business requirements.
