Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Bus Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing safe and reliable transportation for individuals in our care, particularly seniors and those with disabilities. Responsibilities
- Safely operate the bus while adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
- Ensure the comfort and safety of passengers during transit.
- Assist passengers with boarding and disembarking, particularly those with mobility challenges.
- Maintain a clean and well-organized vehicle.
- Communicate effectively with passengers, staff, and caregivers regarding schedules and any concerns.
- Document daily trips, including passenger counts and any incidents that may occur.
- Collaborate with recreational therapy staff to facilitate outings that enhance the quality of life for seniors.
- Provide support in managing aging issues, dementia care, and long-term care needs during transport.
Requirements
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Experience in senior care or working with individuals with disabilities is preferred.
- Knowledge of recreational therapy practices is a plus.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with passengers and staff.
- Ability to handle sensitive situations related to aging issues counseling or social work.
- Familiarity with home community care practices is beneficial.
