Responsibilities
- Assist in the assessment of patients by taking vital signs and documenting medical histories.
- Maintain and update medical records accurately and in a timely manner.
- Provide direct support to individuals with developmental disabilities, ensuring their comfort and safety.
- Collaborate with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive patient care.
- Educate patients and families about health conditions, treatments, and care plans.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations in all patient interactions and documentation.
- Participate in training sessions to stay updated on medical terminology and best practices in patient care.
- Support hospice care initiatives by providing compassionate assistance to patients and families.
Requirements
- Previous experience working in a hospital or healthcare setting is preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology is essential for effective communication within the team.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with home community care practices is a plus.
- Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality.
- Ability to take vital signs accurately and efficiently.
- Compassionate demeanor with a strong commitment to providing quality patient care.
- Certification as a Medical Technician or relevant qualifications are preferred but not mandatory.
