JOB SUMMARY: Under the general supervision of the head groundskeeper, this position is responsible for the care and maintenance of grounds on all MBL properties. This includes but is not limited to; plant grass, mow, weed, rake, hedge trim, plant flowers, sweep walkways and parking lots, remove litter, and upkeep outdoor furniture. Feed, prune, and otherwise care for trees/shrubs around MBL campus. Work inside buildings during inclement weather by sweeping, mopping, cleaning labs, etc., as directed by Supervisor. Perform other duties as required and/or assigned. Post-offer, pre-employment physical examination is required. Worker must have and maintain a valid driver’s license with favorable driving record.

SKILLS REQUIRED: Ability to work as part of a team and independently as required. Ability to operate mowers, spreaders, trimmers, and other landscaping equipment.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Post-offer, pre-employment physical examination. Worker must have and maintain a valid driver’s license with favorable driving record. Must be available to work a flexible schedule including weekends and some evenings.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Prior landscaping experience preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: This position requires heavy work (exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects). Worker must be able to stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, push, pull, use fingertips, grasp, lift, talk, hear, taste/smell, perceive attributes of objects by touch, and perform repetitive motions. Worker is required to have visual acuity to perform an activity such as operating machines where the seeing job is at or within arm’s reach.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS: This position is subject to outside environmental condition with no effective protection from weather. Worker is subject to noise, vibration, hazards, atmospheric conditions, and oils.
