$1,500 SIGN ON BONUS! (NEW HIRES ONLY)
JOB SUMMARY: Under the general supervision of the Transportation and Grounds Supervisor, this position is responsible for driving the MBL shuttle van passengers from the Woods Hole Campus to the MBL cottages and Devil’s Lane parking lot. Duties include but are not limited to; transporting passengers in a shuttle van along an assigned route in a safe manner and at assigned times, ensuring vehicle is adequately fueled and report maintenance concerns to Supervisor, maintain passenger log-tally, maintain radio contact as required and report any unusual incidents, and performing other duties as required and/or assigned. Previous driving experience preferred. Interviewing now for end of May start.
Schedule
SKILLS REQUIRED: Understand the rules for seatbelt use for various ages and other motor vehicle regulations. Have a safety awareness of both the vehicle and the passengers. Have good driving skills, be punctual, and concentrate well. Have good interpersonal skills with people of all ages and nationalities. Be able to exercise good judgment in evaluating situations and making decisions.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Worker must be 18 years of age or older. Post-offer, pre-employment physical examination and drug test required. Worker must have and maintain a valid driver’s license with favorable driving record (a motor vehicle records check will be performed). Should be prepared to work a flexible schedule including weekends, holidays, and some evenings.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Previous experience driving a 15-person van preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: This position requires sedentary work (exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently to constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body). Worker must be able to sit for extended periods of time, stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, push, pull, use fingertips, grasp, lift, talk, hear, taste/smell, perform repetitive motions. Worker is required to have visual acuity to operate motor vehicles.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS: This position is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions. Worker is required to function in narrow aisles or passageways.
