Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS) is looking for the best and brightest to join our Team! This position is located at MCAS YUMA, AZ. Candidates selected for this position will serve as a BARTENDER LEADER.

Major Duties

Summary of Duties: Leads bartenders in the preparation of alcohol and nonalcoholic beverages from a full service bar. Mixes a wide variety of drinks to order following a variety of established recipes. Receives payment or charges to member¿s account. Makes change and is accountable for cash fund. Assist in taking inventory and maintaining records. Keeps bar area clean and keeps area stocked properly at all times. Washes bar equipment, glassware, and utensils. May perform sanitation duties within assigned work area as required. Responsible for assigning tills to bartending staff and nightly deposits. This is a key-holder position and includes securing the facility at the end of business hours.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Skills and Knowledge: Must have bartender experience, the ability to mix and serve a wide variety of beverage by combining ingredients such as liquors, soda, water, sugar, bitters and fruit garnishes. Serves liquor, beer and wine, and is skillful in mixing assorted beverages. Skill to completely set-up a bar and to recognize impending shortages of supplies based on the volume of business and insure their timely replacement. Ability to collect tabs, chits or cash in appropriate amounts and is accountable for cash and inventory for the period worked. Ability to recognize intoxicated or unruly patrons and to resolve the problem or seek assistance if needed. Must possess leadership abilities. Must meet minimum age requirements. Must have a minimum of one year leader experience.

Responsibility: The manager furnishes instructions concerning the proper operation of the bar orally or in writing. Incumbent is held responsible for the proper operation of the bar, receipts, cash, and inventory accountability.

Physical Demands: May walk or stand for prolonged periods of time. Frequent light to moderate lifting and carrying objects weighing 5 to 15 pounds, pushing and pulling objects weighing 10 to 20 pounds and occasionally lifting up to and over 40 pounds. Uses a dolly to transport beer kegs.

Work Environment: Works inside with adequate lighting, heat and ventilation. May work outside in support of offsite catering events. Subject to cuts, bruises, and chapped hands.

STEP 3 ¿ Military Spousal Preference may be requested for positions NF-3 and below, Crafts and Trades (NA, NL, NS), and Child & Youth (CY) positions. Spouses must meet the minimum qualifications posted in the job announcement. Spouse preference eligibility begins 30 days before the military sponsor¿s reporting date to the new duty location. Spousal Preference applicants hired in a flexible position will not lose their spousal preference eligibility until converted or hired into a regular full-time or part-time position or is within a 60 day period of receiving new PCS Orders. Military spouses shall receive MSP for each PCS move until such time as they accept or decline a continuing position.

Required Documents

Furnish a copy of the PCS order identifying a spouse¿s authorized move and the sponsor¿s reporting date to the new duty location. If the spouse is not listed on the PCS orders, the spouse must provide documentation (i.e. marriage certificate, valid military ID, etc.) verifying marriage prior to PCS orders (must have been married to the military sponsor before relocation to the new duty station).

Transition Assistance Program: (May be requested for positions graded NF-3 below or equivalent) Involuntarily separated members of the armed forces and eligible family members applying through the Transition Assistance Program must upload all documents listed above in Step 4.
