Major Duties
Maintains ticket and travel bureau desk. Contacts tourism departments to obtain information. Keeps travel bureau stands up-to-date. Organizes days and times for recreation classes. Completes class registration forms and special events rosters. Coordinates and maintains program schedule for activities and classes to avoid conflicts. Sells tickets and coupons books and maintains current information on various recreational activities in area. Operates RecTrac cash register, receives monies, accepts payments, returns changes, issues receipts and completes charge transactions.
Assists Recreation/ITT Manager in planning and implementing tours by assisting with scheduling tours, checking on transportation availability, setting up rosters, purchasing items for the tour and acting as tour guide. Insures that brochure packets and other important materials are on the bus for distribution during tours. Plans and carries out a travel/tour and advertising program. Organizes and sets up recreational classes. Performs a variety of clerical and manual support tasks. Provides information on tickets and tours and represents MCCS activities. Handles customer inquiries. Answers telephone, quotes prices, places orders, takes messages and contacts vendors. Recommends designs and provides adequate information on activities to Advertising Department for fliers/publicity. Counts and verifies change fund. Secures monies in safe at night. Obtains change from Cash Cage. Completes ADR’s on a daily basis. Performs opening and closing paperwork. Completes monthly accounting statement. Updates brochures and local information by phone, email and mail. Contacts parks and recreational facilities. Organizes and maintains filing system. Takes monthly ticket stock inventory. Ensures that only authorized personnel utilize services. Maintains work area in a neat and orderly manner. Performs other related duties as assigned/required. Provides World Class Customer Service with an emphasis on courtesy. Assists customers and communicates positively in a friendly manner. Takes action to solve problems quickly. Alerts the higher-level supervisor, or proper point of contact for help when problems arise. Adheres to safety regulations and standards. Promptly reports any observed workplace hazards, and any injury, occupational illness, and/or property damage resulting from workplace mishaps to the immediate supervisor. Adheres to established standards of actively supporting the principles of the EEO program and prevention of sexual harassment. Position requires frequent standing, walking, stooping, bending, reaching, climbing and ability to lift and carry objects. This is a white-collar position where occasional lifting up to 20 lbs may be required.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFCIATIONS: One year general experience at any type of work that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the job or that provided a familiarity with recreation. Must be able to communicate both orally and in writing, handle money, perform simple mathematical calculations, use a computer and follow instructions.
