We are a journey of continuous growth - now looking for our next star - a passionate Mechanical Product Development Engineer. This position reports to the Director, Product Development, Engineering and will work in Limerick, PA. Dometic Marine's facility in Limerick, PA develops and manufactures mechanical steering control systems along with shift and throttle cables.
As a Product Development Engineer of the Limerick team, you will be involved in developing mechanical and electro-mechanical solutions for the marine market compliant with government and industry standards. The engineer will also be responsible for the sustaining engineering of any Limerick design controlled products.
General Responsibilities
- Develop new products for target customers based on Sales and Product management input.
- Develop variations for existing product platforms based on customer needs.
- Liaise with customer's technical staff and the SeaStar key account managers, product management and engineering leadership to develop solutions and internal cost estimates.
- Develop the product requirements, high level design specifications, test & validation methods and plans in coordination and approval with the Customer's application requirements.
- Specify and evaluate engineering materials ensuring suitability to application in intended environments.
- Support Customer and Quality Assurance regarding field technical issues and related corrective action.
- Process Engineering Change Requests including development of plan to execute change, updating documentation and coordination with other functional groups.
- Provide support for assessments of competitive products and technologies.
