Job Overview:
We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Shop Associate to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in supporting the smooth operation of our shop by handling various tasks such as order fulfillment, inventory management, and maintaining a safe and organized shop environment. Key Responsibilities:
- Inventory Management: Receive, unpack, and organize incoming shipments. Ensure inventory is accurately counted, labeled, and stored in designated areas.
- Shipping & Receiving: Assist with the shipping and receiving of products. Verify the accuracy of incoming and outgoing shipments against purchase orders and invoices.
- Equipment Operation: Safely operate shop equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks, to move materials and products.
- Stocking & Organization: Maintain an organized and clean shop by keeping shelves, bins, and aisles clear and tidy. Perform regular inventory counts and update records as necessary.
- Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols and company policies to ensure a safe working environment. Identify and report any hazards or issues that may arise.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with other shop staff, supervisors, and management to ensure smooth operations and effective communication across shifts.
- Maintain Shop Equipment: Ensure equipment is in good working condition and notify supervisors of any maintenance needs or equipment malfunctions.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a back shop/warehouse or similar environment preferred but not required.
- Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and perform physical tasks.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.
- Basic computer skills for tracking inventory and using shop management systems.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
- Ability to operate or willingness to learn how to operate shop equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks).
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred:
- Forklift certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Experience with shop management systems or inventory software.
- Knowledge of safety standards in a shop setting.
