Job Summary
The Senior Scientist/Project Manager will lead project management, mentor junior staff, and contribute to strategic growth through proposal writing and marketing efforts.
This role requires the ability to work independently, generating complex reports and documents with minimal oversight, and managing projects from bid to completion.
Key Responsibilities
BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
• Collaborate with the Executive Team to execute the business development plan in support of MTS' growth strategies
• Support the pursuit of new business opportunities and participate in strategic development
• Develop and maintain relationships with key clients and stakeholders
PROJECT MANAGEMENT
• Provide technical oversight and execution of environmental consulting projects
• Manage and mentor field staff, ensuring safe project execution and meeting client objectives
• Schedule and supervise professional-level staff, directing tasks and responsibilities
PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS
• Maintain advanced SCUBA certification
• Possess knowledge of coastal ecosystems and species inhabiting them
• Design field sampling programs using accepted scientific methods
• Experience with marine remote sensing equipment
• Ability to lead and manage teams efficiently
