We are looking for an awesome Assistant Controller to join our fun and growing organization in preparing statements that follow strong GAAP guidelines. The ideal candidate will help us to deliver on our high expectations by being responsible for identifying and preventing discrepancies and helping set up control systems throughout our organization to achieve consistent positive results. An effective assistant controller will have good knowledge of accounting principles and how best to apply them. You must be an organized professional with a great eye for detail. You must be reliable and able to carry out tasks autonomously and collaboratively. You will take a principal role in ensuring the accounting and financial processes of the company are held to the highest industry standards and ensure accurate financial reporting and control. You will report to the CFO.
Responsibilities
- Build a strong team environment within the accounting function and in the support of all company operations
- Contribute to most aspects of accounting management (billing, payroll, reporting, general ledger, and etc.)
- Assist in the formulation of internal controls and policies to comply with established best practices
- Prepare the financial statements in compliance with established guidelines and requirements to ensure they are correct and consistently prepared
- Manage journal entries, invoices etc. and reconcile accounts for the monthly or annual closing
- Assist in the preparation of budgets or forecasts
- Participate in preparation for the annual reviewed financial statements
- Help in the development of reports for management and analysis purposes
- Review the company’s accounting information to identify and resolve inaccuracies or imbalances
- Utilize the accounting system to facilitate processes, maintain records, and maintain digital records to eliminate paper
Skills
- Proven experience as assistant controller or other similar position
- Solid knowledge of GAAP and ability to research new regulations and guidance
- Proven ability to lead teams to achieve goals and targets in support of the organization
- Proven ability to relate well and collaborate with other departments for the betterment of the organization while maintaining strong accounting principles.
- Excellent knowledge of accounting and financial processes (budgeting, financial closure, reporting etc.)
- Understanding of data analysis and the forecasting process
- Working knowledge of MS Office (especially excel) and accounting software (ERP experience is extremely helpful)
- Well-organized with ability to prioritize
- Very good communication and interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail and problem-solving ability
- BSc/BA in accounting, finance or relevant field is preferred
- Work at a CPA firm a big plus
- Professional certification (e.g. CPA) is a plus

Pay: $75,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
