KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Strategic Leadership:
- Develop and execute long-term engineering strategies aligned with company goals, including new product development, technology advancements, and cost optimization.
- Collaborate with senior management to set product roadmaps and market positioning for new boat models.
- Oversee the engineering budget and resource allocation.
- Lead engineering teams in the development of new boat designs, ensuring compliance with industry standards and customer specifications.
- Oversee the prototyping process, testing, and refinement of new boat designs.
- Manage the integration of new technologies and materials into boat designs.
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams to ensure smooth production of new boat designs, including quality control and process improvements.
- Identify and address manufacturing challenges related to design and production processes.
- Recruit, develop, and lead a team of engineers across various disciplines (electrical engineers, mechanical engineers).
- Foster a culture of excellence, innovation and continuous improvement within the engineering team.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineers.
- Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and regulatory changes impacting boat design and manufacturing.
- Possess in-depth knowledge of boat construction techniques, materials, and performance characteristics.
- Analyze engineering data and provide technical solutions to complex design challenges.
- Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or related field
- Extensive experience in boat design and manufacturing engineering
- Proven leadership skills in managing engineering teams
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams
- Understanding of regulatory compliance and safety standards in the marine industry
