What are the responsibilities and job description for the Learning Management System (LMS) Administrator position at Mariner Holdings?
Mariner is seeking a Learning Management System (LMS) Administrator. The LMS Administrator manages the day-to-day operational aspects of the LMS software platform (Oracle Learning) for online learning, training, and development. The primary goal is to assist in the seamless delivery and execution of our talent development strategy, helping to empower our associates to excel, learn, lead and manage effectively. This role requires both technical proficiency and strong organizational and interpersonal skills and works closely with HRIS and other cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities
- Platform Configuration and Customization: Serves as architect for LMS, configures system to align with organization needs. Ensures system compatibility with other software and systems. Identifies and suggests modifications to optimize the LMS. Balances system functionality with user-friendliness.
- Technical Proficiency: Excels at navigating the LMS and related technologies. Keeps abreast of new LMS technology trends. Liaises with LMS vendor for system support and upgrades. Provides prompt technical support to all associates, responds to system questions. Learns and communicates system enhancements and how to effectively use them.
- Collaboration with Content Creators: Partners with content creators to add content or live courses in alignment with business strategies, ensuring adherence to governance standards, and maximizing the functionality of the system.
- Content Management: Uploads and organizes course content and learning materials. Sets up and reviews eLearning, creates learning paths, adds branding images, text, interactive quizzes and videos. Ensures training content is loaded in system correctly and functions properly. Conducts system tests and quality assurance checks to ensure training content is operating as required.
- User Management: Manages user accounts, roles, and permissions. Provides support for Talent Development inquiries, delivering prompt and accurate responses via general mailbox or technical tickets.
- Reporting and Analytics: Maintains accurate learning records, including user activity and course completions. Creates insightful reports in support of decision making that improves learning outcomes.
- Training and Promoting LMS: Trains associates and managers on how to effectively use system for their role. Creates quarterly newsletter for associates, highlighting system features and offerings. Provides up-to-date information about schedules, materials, and course offerings.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, organizational development, instructional design, business, or a related field preferred.
- 3 years’ experience in human resources, learning and development, or related role.
- Demonstrated experience working with LMS strongly preferred, particularly Oracle Learning, or others such as Workday, Cornerstone, 360 Learning, TalentLMS, EducateMe, etc., as well as course authoring tools such as Articulate 360 or Adobe Captivate.
- Demonstrated experience with tools and technology related to LMS management, including content authoring tools, database management, authentication and single sign-on, integration, and analytics and reporting tools.
Skills & Knowledge
- Technical Skills: Knowledge and skill with LMS systems, including how to maximize capabilities of the system. Advanced skills working with Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
- Problem-Solving: Skilled in troubleshooting, researching, and resolving complex and challenging system issues. Breaks down complex problems into smaller, more manageable parts.
- Communication: Excellent oral and written skills to communicate with stakeholders at all levels within the organization, including learners, instructors, and content owners regarding technical aspects of LMS. Demonstrates a client-support focus and a proactive, solution-oriented mindset.
- Detail Oriented: Highly organized, meticulous, and skilled in planning and prioritizing tasks effectively. Gives full attention to even the smallest details to ensure work is accurate, precise, and high quality.
