As a Analyst, Manager Research (Real Assets) for Mariner you will be primarily responsible for the identification and evaluation of various asset classes and categories. Additionally, the analyst will be responsible for developing and maintaining a focus list of Approved strategies within those asset classes and categories for client use.

JOB DESCRIPTION
As a Analyst, Manager Research (Real Assets) for Mariner you will be primarily responsible for the identification and evaluation of various asset classes and categories. Additionally, the analyst will be responsible for developing and maintaining a focus list of Approved strategies within those asset classes and categories for client use.
Expected Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
- MBA, CFA, or CAIA are preferred.
- Minimum of five years of investment strategy due diligence experience across multiple asset classes preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Analyst should be an organized self-starter with the ability to multi-task effectively.
- PC proficiency including Microsoft Office; specifically, Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Evaluation of assigned asset classes and categories.
- Development of primers and education presentations for assigned asset classes and categories.
- Investment strategy identification and due diligence for assigned alternative asset classes and categories.
- Develop and maintain a focus list of Approved investment strategies within assigned asset classes and categories.
- Investment idea generation for new asset classes, categories, and strategies.
- Asset allocation modeling and model portfolio development.
- Identify short-to-intermediate term tactical investment opportunities suitable for client investment in areas outside the scope of traditional asset allocation.
- Present updates, recommendations, and new ideas to the Investment Policy Committee as needed.
- Conduct annual asset class reviews to the Investment Committee (IC) to provide guidance to advisors.
- Attend client meetings to assist advisors with asset class education, manager interviews, and strategy placements.
- Provide peer review for team members within the investment team.
- Assist with new client onboarding through portfolio and investment strategy review and roadmap development.
- Assist the client service team to determine best candidates for investment manager searches.
- Keep Mariner service teams informed of any pertinent information regarding our clients’ investment managers.
- Lead the open investment RFP process for larger relationships within assigned asset classes.
- Attend and speak at conferences as needed.
- Special projects as needed.
- Assist in new business presentations as needed.
- Mentor research associates within the group.
