The Paralegal for the corporate legal team at Mariner Wealth Advisors is the ideal role for an experienced Paralegal who excels at working on diverse corporate legal matters supporting the firm’s general legal operations, including acquisitions, contracts, litigation, labor and employment, regulatory and compliance, business registrations, and file maintenance. This opportunity allows you to collaborate on a broad range of legal work across many departments within the organization.
Responsibilities
- Supports acquisition attorneys by driving transaction processes forward for acquisition opportunities from initial interaction through a committed transaction, closing, and post-closing obligations
- Provide support for acquisitions-related diligence review and vendor assignment/termination and notification
- Reviews and proofreads various legal documents and manages a variety of commonly used legal forms (including non-disclosure agreements, Know Your Customer (KYC) forms, transaction documents, and contract renewals) noting questions for clarification/understanding and potential action
- Supports litigation-related activities including tracking filings and e-discovery requests
- Track legal requests submitted through our matter management system
- Provide support for leased property portfolio including business registration and insurance coverage maintenance
- Assist with legal invoice review and alignment with billing guidelines (where applicable)
- Bachelor's degree and/or paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved paralegal program
- 3 - 5 years experience with in-house corporate legal matters and/or a combination of private practice and in-house experience
- Experience supporting in-house attorneys on a broad range of corporate legal matters
- Extremely conscientious about accuracy and attention to detail; takes ownership and accountability to produce thorough, high-quality deliverables
- Demonstrates strength with issue spotting and analyzing situations or data from which answers can be readily obtained
- Ability to execute in a fast-paced environment while balancing multiple priorities
- Excellent interpersonal relations and ability to work collaboratively with all levels of the organization and external parties; demonstrates a team-oriented attitude and work style
- Advanced level MS Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat skills; aptitude to learn new technology quickly and proficient at implementing technology and tools into processes
- Familiarity with file management and vendor tracking solutions such as Box a plus
