Job Description Summary:
Performs as clerk/receptionist for the Occupational Therapy Department. Facilitates communication within the Occupational Therapy Department and also between patients, therapists, and other units in the hospital. Helps to coordinate and control the interaction with outside medical equipment suppliers, providers and insurers.
Job Requirements, Prerequisites and Essential Functions:
EDUCATION
High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
EXPERIENCE
Experience as a Clerk/Receptionist in a medical office or hospital setting preferred.
LICENSURE AND CERTIFICATIONS
Integrative Agitation Management (IAM) Required within 30 days of hire
PREREQUISITE SKILLS
1. Ability to work in teams in which all members are mutually accountable
2. Ability to work collaboratively with team members, hospital staff, patients, and physicians
3. Capable of organizing multiple tasks and using good time management and attention to details
4. Demonstrated professional telephone skills
5. Understanding of medical and physical therapy terminology, Medi-Cal, and Medicare forms preferred. Understanding of patient and staff scheduling preferred
6. Basic computer knowledge with the ability to do data entry and retrieval
7. Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills
8. Ability to read, speak, write, understand, and follow English and written instruction. Some Spanish preferred
