Job Description Summary : This is an entry-level position for a Radiological Technologist with no acute care facility employment experience. The Radiological Technologist provides general radiology examinations to patients under the supervision of a more experienced technologist and under the supervision of the Lead Radiological Technologist. A technologist who is certified by the State of California (CRD) and by the ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) must obtain a Fluoroscopy certification within 12 months of hire date.
Job Requirements, Prerequisites and Essential Functions :
EDUCATION
1. Formal Training in an accredited Radiological program
2. High School diploma, GED or equivalent preferred
EXPERIENCE
1. Clinical Student internship experience as part of accredited training program is required (see education). Typically the student intern must accrue 2400 hours before State of California certification.
LICENSURE AND CERTIFICATIONS
Basic Life Support Required at hire
Radiologic Technologist Required at hire
Radiology Fluoroscopy Required within 365 days of hire
Integrative Agitation Management (IAM) Required within 30 days of hire
PREREQUISITE SKILLS
1. Technical ability to perform all diagnostic radiography examinations as outlined in the MarinHealth Diagnostic Imaging Services department policy and procedure manual
2. Ability to interact with the general public, clients, staff, and referring physicians with diplomacy, tact, and goodwill
3. Able to communicate effectively with patients who are under stress
4. Ability to participate in department team quality improvement activities
