We are currently looking for a Project Engineer to join our Engineering team in McDonough, GA!
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for planning and conducting independent work requiring judgment in the evaluation, selection, application and adaptation of engineering techniques, procedures and criteria for the use of light gauge steel products.
- Ability to detail and engineer curtainwall, load bearing and roofing for light gauge steel products.
- Perform structural design and analysis calculations using governing codes and standards, engineering formulas, skills and experience.
- Use computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to prepare engineering design documents.
- Develop probable cost estimates for project.
- Analyzes specifications and performance requirements to ensure that designs meet specifications.
- Analyzes engineering proposals, requirements, and related technical data pertaining to design.
- Determines feasibility of designing new structures or modifying existing structures considering costs, available space, time limitations, and other technical and economic factors.
- Provides technical information concerning erection techniques, materials, properties, and advantages and limitations that affect long-range engineering planning.
- Compiles and analyzes operational, test, and research data to establish performance standards for newly designed or modified structures.
- Studies of engineering and technical publications to keep abreast of technological changes and developments in industry.
- May use computer-assisted engineering software and equipment.
- May inspect existing projects and recommend repair and replacement of defective members or rebuilding of entire structure.
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Civil/Structural Engineering
- Preferred zero - two years of experience with knowledge in civil and/or structural engineering, obtainable usually through a combination of experience and continuing education; or
- Equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Proficient in AutoCAD. Familiar with other engineering software programs desired.
