The ideal candidate will be responsible for evaluating the costs of projects and assessing the feasibility of taking on those projects. The candidate will be familiar with our competitive advantages as an organization and will effectively communicate those benefits throughout the bidding process.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain knowledge of competitive advantages in the industry to aid the bidding process.
- Resolve cost discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.
- Obtain accurate quotes for materials and systems to establish precise cost estimates.
- Search for and evaluate competitive bids to ensure the company secures the best value.
- Collaborate closely with project managers and subcontractors to gather necessary information for accurate estimations.
- Prepare detailed cost reports and presentations for stakeholders, ensuring transparency and clarity.
- Assist in the development of project budgets and timelines.
- Monitor industry trends and market conditions to inform bidding strategies.
- Maintain organized documentation of estimates, bids, and contracts for future reference.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Construction Management, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Solid understanding of basic accounting principles and cost estimation methods.
- Familiarity with blueprints and the ability to read and interpret plans.
- 1 - 3 years of construction experience preferred, with exposure to both commercial and residential projects.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively convey information to team members and clients.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a small team environment.
- Proficiency in estimation software and Microsoft Office Suite.
