Job Summary

The Mechanical Design Engineering Intern plays a crucial role in creating a competitive advantage for our customers and reports to the Engineering Manager.

Supervisory Responsibilities

None

Key Responsibilities And Essential Functions

• Continually improving product designs by seeking input from Production, Sales and Engineering to implement best in class production techniques and processes.
• Create accurate documentation for equipment, including but not limited to: drawings, bills of material, sketches, written and verbal instructions.
• Supports the engineering department in product design on new and existing projects.
• Supports production engineering activities and improvements.
• Utilizes systematic problem solving methodology to identify root causes of product application/quality problems and make recommendations for improvements.
• Works with the Supply Base group in supplier selection through the assessment of supplier capabilities, capacity and ability to meet quality and delivery requirements.
• Be able to provide minor support in the shop or test area when required

Required Education And Experience

• Enrolled in a 2- or 4-year technical program.
• Knowledge and/or experience with CAD design, 3D modeling (solidworks)
  
  

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to see, talk, hear, and grasp
• Be able to climb, stoop, or crouch
• Must be able to lift up to 10lbs
  
  

Other

• Less than 10% travel possible
• Must comply with corporate requirements for confidentiality and non-compete agreements
