Basic Qualifications

Education/Training: A high school diploma or equivalent; specialized education or training relating to loan processing; mandatory S.A.F.E. Act registration.

Skill(s): Proficient reading, writing, grammar, and mathematics skills; proficient interpersonal relations and communicative skills; moderate knowledge of commercial loan documentation and bank operating policies and procedures; basic knowledge of financial statements; proficient PC skills including excel; visual and auditory skills.

Experience: A minimum of five (5) years’ related experience normally required.

General Responsibilities

Responsible for performing a variety of duties to support the commercial loan function; coordinating work within the department, as well as with other departments; complying with operating policies and procedures established for the commercial loan function; communicating with appropriate personnel; responding to inquiries or requests for information; maintaining appropriate records and providing assigned reports.

Essential Duties

1. Performs a variety of duties to support the commercial loan processing function as follows:

a. Commercial document preparation responsibilities including review document requests to ensure completeness, produce loan documentation packages using True Stage system, communicate and discuss loan transactions with commercial lending officers or other bank staff, review entity documentation to understand business structure and authorized signers, perform post-booking quality control to verify accuracy of system inputs

b. Works with lenders, appraisers, attorneys and outside service providers and reviews and processes commercial loan applications, often of a more complex nature.

c. Management of appraisal ordering process for commercial loans including workouts, bidding, engaging and management of requested appraisals; coordination with designated function backup to ensure coverage at all times; ensures timely storage of completed appraisals (scanning as necessary) in appropriate locations; management of approved appraiser list; processing of appraisal bills and follow-up on fee collection as necessary

d. Obtains necessary supporting documentation in accordance with established checklists or as needed.

e. Monitors pending commercial loans.

f. Ensures compliance with loan policy procedures and federal and state lending regulations.

g. Records loan documents when applicable.

h. Maintains credit information and statements.

i. Maintains credit file information including scanning all documents.

j. Processes new loan input and upload.

k. Assists with loan closings as needed.

l. Provides loan disbursements, including mortgage recordings and UCC-1 filings.

m. Provides information for, and assists in the preparation of, various loan reports as directed.

n. Provides direct service to departments including the loan department, credit department, and branches.

o. Coordinates and maintains the financial tracking system and production of appropriate letters requesting customer financial updates.

p. Receives data on prospective and active borrowing accounts, i.e., financial statements, agency reports, and interview and investigation sheets.

q. Orders, obtains, and compiles credit reports; orders lien searches; flood certifications; advises the assigned supervisor of problems.

r. Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office products

s. Proficient knowledge of bank loan systems and documentation software

2. Coordinates specific work tasks with other personnel within the department as well as with other departments in order to ensure the smooth and efficient flow of information.
3. Abides by the current laws and organizational policies and procedures designed and implemented to promote an environment which is free of harassment and other forms of illegal discriminatory behavior in the work place.

4. Cooperates with, participates in, and supports the adherence to all internal policies, procedures, and practices in support of risk management and overall safety and soundness and the Bank's compliance with all regulatory requirements, e.g. Community Reinvestment Act (CRA), Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Equal Credit Opportunity Act, S.A.F.E. Act, etc.

5. Communicates with management and staff personnel in order to integrate goals and activities.

6. Responds to inquiries relating to his/her particular area, or to requests from other Bank personnel, customers, etc., within given time frames and within established policy.

7. Maintains appropriate records and provides assigned reports.

Ancillary Duties

1. Performs tasks which are supportive in nature to the essential functions of the job, but which may be altered or re-designed depending upon individual circumstances.

Pay: $22.00 - $26.00 per hour
