Position Details
• Title: Circulation Supervisor II
• Location: Central Library
• Hours: 40 per week
• Schedule: Varies as needed, but will include day, evening, and every other weekend hours (including at least 6 Sundays per year)
• Starting Hourly Rate: $22.00
• FLSA Status: Exempt

Under intermittent supervision, the Circulation Supervisor II functions as a working supervisor coordinating and performing a variety of clerical and technical tasks. The Supervisor is responsible for serving as the person-in-change, along with conducting interviews, hiring, scheduling, training, coaching and performance management of assigned department staff, as well as maintaining office equipment, ordering supplies, reporting building maintenance issues, and documenting incidents and accidents.

- Associate’s degree or equivalent experience
- Three to five years of experience. Supervisory experience is preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, ADP Time & Attendance, ADP Portal and basic office and computer skills.
- Valid Indiana Driver’s License, clean driving record, proof of auto insurance
What does the job look like?
- Hires, trains, supervises, schedules, coaches, evaluates, and manages job performance for assigned personnel.
- Maintains records and prepares requested reports; compiles statistical data as requested by branch manager.
- Maintains basic office equipment, reporting malfunctions and other problems to appropriate supervisors.
- Serves as the person-in-charge, handling security or building issues as needed.
- Holds and participates in work progress meetings.
- Responsible for counting and recording monies taken in and balancing cash drawer daily. Responsible for preparing and making bank deposits.
- Resolves patron disputes and responds to patron concerns and complaints.
- Creates and oversees payment plans, evaluates items and charges patrons for damaged items as needed.
- Acts as a liaison to Shared System schools. Assists, trains and troubleshoots as needed.
- Assists at the reference desk as needed.
- Interviews and schedules volunteers. Directs volunteer activities, as needed.
- Examines each incoming item and ensures that it is clean, complete and correct before processing. Routes each item to its proper destination.
- Responsible for processing and shelving holds.
- Adds RFID tags to items as needed. Conducts inventory checks on branch collection using RFID equipment.
- Attends professional development activities and completes annual trainings.
- Serves on project teams or committees and contributes to staff trainings and activities, as requested.
- Able to work the normally scheduled work time for this position along with covering absences as needed.

- Physical requirements include constant carrying, pushing/ pulling up to 20 pounds, reaching, handling, fine dexterity, and vision/ hearing/ talking; frequent standing, lifting, and crouching. May occasionally push/ pull and lift more than 20 pounds.
