What are the responsibilities and job description for the Inmate Logistics Clerk position at Marion County Indiana Sheriff's Office?
Responsible for maintaining accurate data for each inmate incarcerated in Marion County and other facilities with a Marion County hold.
Accurately updates appropriate software and jail packets.
Responsible for ensuring all necessary documentation is received and properly completed.
Efficiently utilize the email system as well as IDACS/NCIC/NLETS and Tiburon.
Responsible for calculating dates for sentenced inmates based on information received from the Court and to ensure the inmate is in the release process on the intended date.
Responsible for assisting the public, other officers and other agencies both in person and on the phone.
Responsible for booking on the outright arrests or open warrants that were found on in-custody inmates and ensuring these inmates are processed by the IMPD Identification Unit.
Responsible for updating their skills to keep abreast of changes in procedure and laws.
Responsible for ensuring all equipment is accounted for and properly maintained, and the work area is kept clean and orderly,

High School Diploma or Equivalent. Ability to communicate effectively & efficiently, both orally and in written format. Must be able to obtain and maintain IDACS/NCIC certification. Must be able to comprehend various computer programs. Must be able to accurately key data. Must be able to handle standard office equipment along with audio communications (radio) equipment.Civilian Employees shall have her/his principal place of residence within the boundaries of Marion County within six months of employment. Actions are controlled by established rules and regulations and civil/criminal laws. Clerks use judgment as necessary in the effective handling of issues. High degree of confidentiality required. Work is generally performed independently; supervisory assistance is available when needed.
