Agency Summary: The Marion County Prosecutor’s Office, led by Prosecutor Ryan Mears, is setting new expectations in the criminal justice system and is committed to a fair and equitable system. The Marion County Prosecutor’s Office is the largest Prosecutor’s Office in the State of Indiana. The Trial Court Division prosecutes more than 29,000 cases annually and prosecutes more than 1 in 4 jury trials in the State. Position Summary: The Marion County Prosecutor’s Office seeks attorneys and staff dedicated to public service, public safety, and fairness and justice for all who come into contact with the criminal justice system. The investigator will take steps to ensure victims and witnesses appear in court and depositions.
Position Responsibilities:
- Assist Deputy Prosecutors in locating victims and witnesses of various criminal matters.
- Transport witnesses and victims to court and/or depositions.
- Serve subpoenas on witnesses and victims. This requires occasionally working on evenings and weekends.
- Provide Deputy Prosecutors transportation to crime scenes and witness locations.
- Testify in court, as requested.

- Must reside in Marion County.
- Law Enforcement training, preferred.
- Have a working knowledge of local, state, and federal laws.
- Demonstrate the ability to work in a team environment.
- Have strong research skills.
- Possess the motivation to use all resources available to locate individuals.
- Have the ability to communicate professionally with witnesses, victims, law enforcement, and court personnel.
- Have at least two (2) years of previous experience either in criminal law or investigative work.
- Have a High School Diploma or equivalent.
