The Marion County School System is excited to announce an opening for the position of Lead Police Officer within our School System. This is an exceptional opportunity for a dedicated law enforcement professional who is passionate about fostering a safe and supportive educational environment for our students and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead an Coordinate: Oversee the school resource officer program and collaborate with school administration to ensure a secure atmosphere for learning.
- Engage and Educate: Conduct safety seminars and workshops, promoting awareness and understanding among students and faculty.
- Community Relations: build positive relationships with students, parents, and the community to encourage cooperation and trust.
Qualifications:
- A valid law enforcement certification.
- Ten years sworn law enforcement experience.
- Georgia Peace Officer Standards and Training (P.O.S.T.) required.
- Certification as a Peace Officer must be completed prior to making application; Must hold a PBLE classification if P.O.S.T. certified after 1982 or the equivalent prior to 1983.
- Advanced Certifications (Instructor, Drug Identification, etc.) a plus. Strong Communication and interpersonal skills.
- A commitment to fostering a postivite school climate.
