The Store Manager role is the heart of each retail location, providing a safe, clean, metric driven, and enthusiastic team dedicated to our Mission and fiscal viability. The Store Manager must set a culture of productivity, adherence to Company values, and DGR guiding principles. The Store Manager accepts full responsibility for all that occurs in their location whether onsite or not, using appropriate coaching and documentation as needed.
Prioritize your assets - Provide exceptional Customer Service- Develop and maintain your store’s appearance by keeping it clean and organized and presenting a positive public image for our organization.
- Show our customers, staff, and the public the highest level of respect at all times, focusing equally on internal and external customer service.
- Delegate intentionally to Assistant, Shift, and appropriate team members to ensure all daily metrics are met or exceeded.

Focus on Team Development
- Recruit and select future employees by ensuring that each candidate understands, abides by, and demonstrates the company culture.
- Develop, train, cross-train and coach employees according to the guiding principles of Goodwill to ensure that each member of your team maximizes their potential.
- Evaluate the performance of your team, holding each member accountable for reaching their goals and the goals of the store, documenting as needed.
- Ensure that your instruction and communication with others is consistent, clear, and concise.

Successful Operation of your Store
- Ensure that your team meets or exceeds daily production goals with effective coaching and practice.
- If production is not on track, develop a plan to offset and report this to VP DGR and Retail Director.
- Ensure that your practices and strategies result in direct expenses ending at or below the budgeted amount.

Be the administrative body in your environment
- Ensure that staff are scheduled to meet the needs of the store.
- The Store Manager is responsible for covering shifts and informing VP DGR and Retail Director the schedule adjustments.
- Communicate regularly and delegate when needed to execute timely documentation, reporting, record keeping, and compliance with Goodwill’s policies, procedures, and safety practices.
