Description :

Maps Credit Union seeks an experienced Mortgage Sales Manager to supervise and develop our team of Mortgage Loan Originators, create and implement a strategic sales plan, and drive business growth and development opportunities.

Key responsibilities include :

1. Model and instill leadership and accountability in the Mortgage team and throughout the Credit Union.

2. Responsible for effectively and efficiently performing administrative supervision of mortgage loan origination activities.

a) Develop, implement, monitor, and maintain a strategic sales plan to achieve company goals and objectives.

b) Responsible for the oversight of the origination of mortgage loan products to residential mortgage borrowers. Lead and direct the day-to-day management of the mortgage loan originators.

c) Recruit, train, and mentor the mortgage loan originators.

d) Ensure mortgage loan origination activities are performed in accordance with credit union policies, procedures, and all applicable legal and regulatory requirements.

e) Recommend strategies to enhance origination processes to achieve a competitive advantage and improve the member experience.

f) Monitor loan pricing and other competitive factors to effectively compete in the marketplace.

g) Stay informed of trends and developments in the real estate market and competitive environment, as well as changes in regulations pertaining to mortgage lending.

3. Effectively supervise Mortgage Loan Originators, ensuring optimal performance.

a) Directly supervise and develop the Mortgage Loan Originators (MLO’s) to ensure service excellence and profitability. Provide overall direction, guidance, and support for MLO’s.

b) Lead MLO’s who are responsible for the day-to-day management of mortgage origination. Responsible for effective communication, coaching and development for all mortgage originators to ensure goals and expectations are understood and achieved.

c) Provide timely, ongoing, and consistent direction, performance coaching and honest feedback to the team.

d) Ensure that personnel are well-trained and effective. Identify training needs and develop and implement appropriate training programs.

e) Track individual progress and conduct performance appraisals. Identify and implement corrective action as needed. Ensure coaching and corrective action instances are fully documented on a consistent basis.

f) Timely address non-performance issues while establishing appropriate performance improvement measures.

g) Direct training programs relative to sales techniques, products, and technical requirements.

4. Establish and maintain professional business relationships with members, real estate agents, builders, financial advisors, or other industry professionals and business contacts, to drive business growth and development opportunities.

a) Maintain the Credit Union’s professional reputation.

b) Resolve requests and problems promptly and courteously.

5. Build and maintain strong internal relationships with key teams within the organization (retail operations, marketing, commercial, private client, investments, consumer lending, and insurance) to enhance overall efficiency and drive business success.

6. Enhance job performance by applying up-to-date professional and technical knowledge gained by attending training sessions, reviewing professional publications, and maintaining professional relationships.

7. Follow regulatory and policy compliance requirements, which include those efforts in compliance with Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Office of Foreign Asset Control (OFAC) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Regulations, Identity Theft Red Flags, and other compliance-related policies.

Requirements :

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required :

1. Exercise considerable judgment and discretion.

2. Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to communicate effectively and project a professional image when giving and taking information in writing, in person, and over the phone.

3. Accurate typing / keyboarding skills; intermediate computer skills, including the use of word processing and Excel spreadsheet software applications and e-mail.

4. Ability to demonstrate the highest level of ethical behavior.

5. Ability to manage and develop people.

6. Ability to retain a broad knowledge of tasks performed in the department(s).

7. Ability to remain flexible to adapt to changes in the work environment.

8. Ability to study and apply current information.

9. Ability to take initiative and prioritize tasks; excellent time-management, problem-prevention, and problem-solving skills.

10. Ability to work accurately with close attention to detail.

11. Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.

12. Ability to collaborate with co-workers, members, and outside agencies professionally and tactfully.

Qualifications :

1. Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Banking, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and financial industry-specific training.

2. Minimum of five years of proven management experience in a financial institution or related industry.

3. Minimum five years of experience in direct selling roles, or the equivalent combination of training and experience with demonstrated progressive responsibilities.

4. Must be bondable.

Starting Exempt salary range : $102,308 - $119,359 per year, depending on experience. Eligible to earn Mortgage Lending incentives.

Schedule : Monday - Friday, business hours.
