1. INTRODUCTION
This job description establishes and describes the requirements, duties, authority, responsibilities, and measures of performance for the Shipping & Receiving and Inventory Clerk at Marion Precision Tool, Inc. (MPT)
2. EDUCATION
A High School diploma or equivalent required. A minimum 2-years job experience equivalent in related industry/functions is preferred.
3. SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES
· Ability to follow directions as directed by the Production Manager and/or Operations Manager.
· Must possess basic math skills to include but not limited to adding, subtracting, multiplication, division.
· Must be able to maintain neat, legible, accurate, and complete documentation, records/logs.
· Problem solving skills.
· Attention to detail required. Must be able to focus continuous attention to detailed processes and routine processes.
· Must be able to read measuring tools, blueprints, specifications, job sheets and possess working knowledge of manufacturing methods, techniques, and related equipment.
· Must have the mechanical and technical aptitude to be able to operate equipment including minor equipment repair, identification, and correction of minor problems and use of hand tools or mechanical equipment to produce structurally sound products.
· Able to adapt to a changing work environment, competing demands, delays, or unexpected events.
· Must have excellent communication skills and ability to communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization.
· Must be computer literate.
· Must be willing to work flexible shifts and changing work schedule.
4. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Requires sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, moving around and over obstacles. Ability to Lift 50 lbs. Ability to operate forklift. Ability to see and read reports, manuals, specifications, model numbers, and to complete forms. Ability to make written and oral reports.
5. BASIC FUNCTIONS
The basic function of the Shipping & Receiving/Inventory Clerk is to keep track of supplies within the MPT Stock Cage, managing orders to facilitate production, prepare outgoing shipments and receiving incoming shipments. Duties include organizing inventory for easy retrieval as new orders come in, reviewing incoming and outgoing shipment schedules to maintain productive operations and documenting damages to inventory/shipments. This role also functions to support Assembly activities being responsible for putting together component parts adhering to a specified set of blueprints or specifications. The Shipping & Receiving/Inventory Clerk is responsible for following MPTs Standard Operating Procedures in the organizations Quality Management System.
