Job Summary
The Radiology Technologist performs diagnostic radiographic procedures under the guidance of licensed physicians. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills, excellent communication abilities, and the capacity to work in a fast-paced environment.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform basic to complex diagnostic radiographic procedures, including IV and contrast administration, orthopedic radiology, pediatric radiology, operating room radiology, trauma radiology, GI radiology, and myelography and arthrography.
- Adjust equipment for proper exposure, voltage, and current in accordance with prescribed radiation safety procedures.
- Determine, prepare, and set up medical supplies, instruments, and equipment.
- Position patients for each anatomical view specified using immobilization and protective devices as required.
- Monitor accessory equipment and assist attending physicians with fluoroscopic examinations and special radiographic studies.
- Record amount and type of film exposed, label film with identifying information, and sort as required.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited program in Radiological Technology.
- AART Registered and CPR Current required upon hire.
- Knowledgeable of local, state, federal, and AAAHC regulations.
- Independent decision-making skills.
- Prioritization and multitasking abilities.
- Excellent communication skills with staff, physicians, patients, and families.
