DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs the physical or administrative tasks involved in the shipping, receiving, storing, and distributing of materials, parts, supplies and equipment.
- Load trailer for shipments
- Computer entry tasks, including bills of lading and data entry
- Lifts heavy items and may operate forklift/ reach trucks
- Prepares and maintains records of merchandise shipped.
- Posts weights and shipping charges and prepares goods for final shipment.
- Prepare HAZMAT shipments according to shipping standards and regulations
- May prepare kitting packages for assembly production
- Prepare, package, and ship LTL and ground shipments
- Prepare, package, and ship all Ocean shipments when needed.
- Has basic understanding of the job and applies knowledge and skills to complete a wide range of tasks
- Basic computer skills
- Works on assignments that are moderately difficult, requiring judgment in resolving issues or in making recommendations
- Normally receives little instruction on daily work, general instructions on newly introduced assignments.
- HAZMAT certification is a plus but if not, will be trained and certified on the job
- Forklift / Reach truck operation experience a plus, but not required.
- Moderate to frequent exposure to shop environment; may be exposed to dust, odors, oils, fumes, chemicals, noise and moving parts. Work typically requires the usage of PPE and can require work on the facility’s production floor or customer’s production environment
- Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl and move about facility and/or customer’s facilities. Frequent lifting up to 50 pounds.
