What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Cost Accountant position at Mark Anthony Brewing Inc.?
Based on-site in our Hillside NJ plant, the Sr. Cost Accountant is responsible for analyzing variances between actual and standard costs for materials, labor and overhead, estimating costs for innovation projects and will assist with budgeting and forecasting. This role will also be the lead for month-end close activities including variance account analysis, journal entry creation and performance results reporting. In addition, this role will work cross-functionally in evaluating productivity projects and will provide support for other operational requests.

- Review P&L accounts, and investigate and report on the drivers of variances to budget, forecast and prior year
- Calculate and process necessary journal entries during month end close and complete balance sheet account reconciliations
- Report performance results, production yields, and weekly and monthly scorecards and evaluate variances between actual and standard costs for materials, labor and overhead
- Capital project purchase orders, invoice processing and spend tracking
- Department overhead expense tracking and reporting
- Fixed assets and capital project tracking
- Assist plant leadership in the development of plant budget and forecast
- 4-6 years’ experience in Accounting, Finance, or related field, preferably in CPG.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and inventory cost accounting.
- Comfortable handling large amounts of data and detail, and having the ability to see the big picture and prioritize workload effectively
- Knowledge of ERP systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Adaptable and flexible to changing business needs but also laser-focused at being able
- Power BI experience is a plus.
