Field Service Technician

Field Service Mechanic – Mark C. Pope Associates. Rockhill, SC and surrounding area.

Our service mechanics are the representatives of MARK C. POPE ASSOCIATES INC., working with our customers to deliver solutions that create a cleaner safer world. Working at our customer's facility, the service representative will maintain, troubleshoot, and repair equipment that we provide including sweepers and scrubbers and batteries and chargers. We must provide quality customer service and communication to minimize costs and ensure satisfaction with the cleaning products.

· Start time no later than 6:45AM unless otherwise noted. You need to be at your first stop by 7:30AM.

Responsibilities:

• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems, air and water-cooled combustion engines, and diesel-gas-LP powered engine problems on all Sweeper/Scrubber and motive power products and similar competitive products.
• Responsible for effectively scheduling time and arranging all customer service calls, planned maintenance and breakdowns, to maintain effective customer service
• Monitor and control expenses and assume complete service responsibility within the service territory
• Assist manager by making territory boundary changes and customer alignment recommendations
• Satisfy in a timely and complete fashion, all business reporting documentation: updating your tablet with parts and comments as needed. Getting a signature at the closing of every service / PM call.
• Efficiently manage inventory levels to maximize inventory turns while minimizing return trips to customers
• Advise the customer of his/her present and/or future service needs
• Estimate machine repair requirements and prepare necessary data to provide an accurate repair quote to the customer. Following through after the estimate has been sent to ensure the customer received and the direction to take.
• Accountable for complete service product knowledge and services offered by Mark C Pope. Must comply with all service department and company procedures, policies, and programs.
• Maintain records of all service activities within the service area through the use and regular updating of customer repair order logs, service agreements, and completed repair order files
• Temporarily substitute in other service territories as required in cases of illness, vacations, vacancies, etc.
• Responsible for proper and safe use, maintenance, and reporting of all Mark C Pope Company property. This includes trucks, trailers, tools, and equipment
• Advise sales representatives of potential customer applications for equipment replacements or additions
• Consistently present a professional image, both in personal appearance and condition of company equipment. Wear provided uniform with MCP logos.
• Be a support for the sales team!

Required Skills

• Strong mechanical aptitude
• Technically knowledgeable and skilled in the troubleshooting and repair of mechanical and electrical systems
• Knowledge of, and troubleshooting experience with, hydraulics and engines a plus
• Safely use hand and power shop tools, equipment, and diagnostic devices
• Able to accurately complete service-related documents and paperwork
• Basic understanding and knowledge of how to use a personal computer
• Understand and manage expenses within the service operation
• Good verbal communication skills
• Customer-centric attitude and approach
• Basic inventory management skills
• Good estimating skills
• Ability to lay out realistic plans and use them to effectively manage the service territory and schedule service work
• Good organization skills

Must pass a company-initiated pre-employment background check, physical, drug test and driving record review.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 - $26.00 per hour
