Overview
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Lead Painter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction painting and possess the ability to lead a team effectively. This role requires expertise in various painting techniques, as well as knowledge of construction processes and materials. The Lead Painter will be responsible for ensuring high-quality finishes on all projects while maintaining safety standards and managing project timelines.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and coordinate all painting activities on-site, ensuring compliance with project specifications and quality standards.
- Lead a team of painters, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality results.
- Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, and applying primers as necessary.
- Apply paint, varnish, or other finishes using hand tools and power tools with precision and skill.
- Conduct inspections of completed work to ensure adherence to quality standards and make necessary adjustments as needed.
- Collaborate with other construction trades such as masonry, carpentry, and stucco to ensure cohesive project execution.
- Estimate material requirements and assist in construction estimating for upcoming projects.
- Maintain an organized work area, ensuring all tools and materials are properly stored and maintained.
- Read and interpret schematics to understand project requirements effectively.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in construction painting with a strong portfolio of completed projects.
- Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools relevant to the painting trade.
- Knowledge of masonry techniques is preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with frame carpentry practices is a plus.
- Ability to read schematics and understand technical drawings related to painting projects.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate a team and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and other tradespeople.
