Job Overview:
Mark Maker is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Steel Rule Rotary or Flat Die Maker to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for fabricating, and assembling dies used in the production of various materials, such as paper, cardboard, and plastics. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with steel rule dies, be comfortable with precision tools and machinery, and have a strong understanding of die-making processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Die Assembly: Ruling rotary or flat dies, ensuring proper alignment and functionality.
- Machine Operation: Operate die-cutting and related machinery to create high-quality dies, maintaining safety and quality standards.
- Measurement & Quality Control: Utilize precision measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, calipers) to verify die accuracy and consistency, adjusting as needed.
- Machine Specifications & CAD Drawing Interpretation: Read and interpret customer machine specifications and CAD drawings to determine die specifications and requirements.
- Troubleshooting & Maintenance: Diagnose and resolve any issues with dies, machines, or tools during production; perform routine maintenance and repairs.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the design team, production staff, and quality control to ensure project timelines are met and customer specifications are fulfilled.
- Continuous Improvement: Suggest and implement improvements to die-making processes, materials, and tooling to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in steel rule die making or a related field (preferably in rotary die-making).
- Skills: Proficient in using tools like die grinders, lasers, and auto benders.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of die-cutting processes, die design principles, and materials used in die-making.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to maintain high levels of precision and quality in all aspects of work.
- Problem-Solving: Strong troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve production issues quickly and efficiently.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift heavy materials and stand for long periods; manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for precise work.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
