Job Summary:
Directly supervises employees in the Inventory Control Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; and addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement effective materials management strategies to optimize inventory levels and reduce costs.
- Oversee production planning activities to ensure timely availability of materials for manufacturing operations.
- Manage inventory control processes, ensuring accurate tracking and reporting of stock levels.
- Collaborate with suppliers to negotiate contracts and ensure quality standards are met.
- Coordinate with warehouse operations to streamline material handling and storage practices.
- Analyze supply chain performance metrics to identify areas for improvement.
- Lead cross-functional teams in initiatives aimed at enhancing overall supply chain efficiency.
- Collaborate with other departments to integrate inventory with business systems or processes, such as customer sales, order management, accounting, or shipping.
- Supervise the work of inventory shipping & receiving coordinators, planners, and inventory expeditors.
- Create policies and procedures for inventory processes and activities.
- Direct inventory operation to ensure achievement of cost, productivity, accuracy, or timeliness objectives.
- Resolve problems concerning shipping, Inventory systems, or customer issues
- Analyze all aspects of the MRL inventory to determine the most cost-effective or efficient means of supplying products or supplies.
- Analyze the financial impact of proposed Inventory changes, such as stocking levels, product volumes or mixes, etc.
- Direct inbound or outbound inventory operations, such as transportation or warehouse activities, safety performance, or inventory quality management.
- Establish or monitor specific supply chain-based performance measurement systems.
- Plan or implement improvements to internal or external inventory systems or processes.
- Develop specific stocking level & parts objectives with an emphasis on cost reduction, quality improvement, technology development, on-time delivery, inventory reduction, lead-time reduction, and customer focus necessary to support the MRL business plan.
- Maintain a neat and orderly work area complying with all 5S initiatives.
- Perform other duties, assignments, and special projects as assigned.
- Follow and comply with all safety and personal protective equipment requirements.

Education and Work Experience:
- Proven experience in materials management or a related field, with a strong understanding of supply chain management principles.
- Proficiency in production planning, inventory management, and MRP systems.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with various stakeholders.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities.
- A degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
- 5 years verifiable work experience working as Senior Management
- Strong ERP skills, JDE and/or GP experience preferred.
- Ability to understand blueprints.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
