Role Description:
This full-time on-site role is for an Occupational Therapist at Mark Their Words... Therapy Services, located in Clarksville, TN. As an Occupational Therapist, you will work closely with our pediatric physical therapists, and speech therapists to develop, implement, and evaluate treatment plans for clients. You will also assist in identifying, assessing, and addressing developmental delays in children, and work to help them reach their full potential through creative play, exploration, and other hands-on activities.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations to assess patients' physical, emotional, and social needs.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on assessment results.
- Provide therapeutic interventions to improve patients' functional abilities in areas such as self-care, mobility, and communication.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including physicians, nurses, and case managers, to ensure coordinated care.
- Educate patients and their families about treatment goals and strategies for achieving them.
- Document patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary to meet evolving needs.
- Maintain knowledge of medical terminology and best practices in occupational therapy.
- Participate in case management activities to support patient transitions across different care settings (e.g., ICU to outpatient).
Qualifications:
- Valid Occupational Therapy licensure in the State of Tennessee
- Master's degree in Occupational Therapy or related field
- Experience working with children in a variety of clinical settings
- Ability to develop treatment plans and modify plans based on ongoing progress evaluations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to effectively manage time and prioritize tasks
- Strong ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Experience with Adaptive Equipment and Assistive Technology is a plus
- Experience with diverse populations and cultural sensitivity is preferred
Experience:
- Previous experience in a hospital setting or critical care environment is preferred.
- Familiarity with working with individuals on the autism spectrum is highly desirable.
- Experience in outpatient therapy or home health care is a plus.
- Knowledge of ADLs and the ability to teach these skills effectively is essential.
- Experience with school-based therapy is beneficial but not mandatory.
