The Operations Supervisor plays a vital role in optimizing the overall team performance. The incumbent is responsible for general oversight and direct involvement for the day-to-day operations processing activities including, but not limited to, systems, product, and workflow knowledge. This position completes quantitative analysis to support management decision-making around a variety of financial and operational issues. Oversees and manages departmental processing efficiency, continuous quality improvement, staff, and process integrity while reducing expenses in order to achieve goals of the company.
What you'll be doing:
- Responsible for promoting high service standards/levels across all departments, developing and maintaining ethical best practices, and providing continuous training in new techniques. Establish metrics required to measure business performance.
- Responsible for the team meeting overall production and service standards. Manage the work activities, performance and development of subordinate staff; utilizing a positive coaching approach with associates.
- Conducts frequent staff meetings, at regular intervals, to provide direction for staff and to foster teamwork and collaboration.
- Collaborate across offices and departments to align services with needs and expectations
- Continually develop/maintain daily/weekly tracking procedures.
- Prepare and present operational reports to management.
- Represent department and participate on special projects or initiatives.
- Review and evaluate personnel performance on an ongoing basis.
What you'll be doing:
- Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management and/or 6 years of insurance processing experience.
- 2-5 years insurance industry experience, including personnel management/supervision experience.
- Technical expertise in insurance with strong knowledge of risk appetite.
- Effective communication with strong analytical skills, creativity and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated aptitude to manage people including conflict management and time sensitive projects.
- Organization skills with ability to multi-task, proven ability to execute.
- Adaptable and comfortable with fast pace and shifting priorities.
- Ability to make sound underwriting and personnel decisions.
- Ability to identify opportunities for improvement to business leaders.
- Complete understanding of corporate, territorial and regional goals and strategies.
