This role is a key part of the underwriting team, focusing on servicing existing risks and underwriting small boat risks. It supports underwriters and the MPL marine product by obtaining information for new and existing risks, task based and ad hoc projects. The position requires independent work and staying current on monthly and yearly projects. You will maintain agency relationships by addressing agent inquiries via phone and email.
What you'll be doing :
- Agent assignment delegated by line of business
- Develops strong customer service skills (consistency, quick response, knowledge of products) and establishes the foundation to interact (both written and verbal) and effectively deal with account issues
- Develops an understanding of agent needs / challenges
- Conducts appropriate reviews in order to prepare referrals for transactions above authority level to appropriate underwriter
- Develops underwriting strategy and sales skills
