Markel Group has a unique opportunity for an experienced compliance-minded, team-first professional to join the Markel Ventures family. This individual will support our mission to "be the best home for our businesses" by coordinating SOX compliance efforts for our holding company.

This position assists with the coordination and execution of SOX compliance efforts for Markel Ventures and its affiliate companies.
Responsibilities include :
- Ongoing design and execution of the Markel Ventures SOX compliance model as it relates to the Markel Ventures companies
- Periodic evaluation of risk, taking into consideration the impact of any changes in identified risk at Markel Ventures or Markel Group to the existing compliance model
- Close working relationship with other functional areas to resolve issues and achieve business goals
- Coordination of the quarterly Management Representation Letter process
- Coordination of and point of contact for third party auditors as it relates to the Markel Group audit and the standalone audits of the Markel Ventures companies
- Assistance with acquisition due diligence, as requested
- Continuous improvement of processes
