The HR Business Partnering team is central to the coordination and delivery of the company’s people and talent management priorities, with the aim of delivering a world-class employee experience. The HR Advisor position is critical to the success of the team, delivering a range of HR Business Partnering support and guidance to several business units, across a number of locations.

What You'll Be Doing
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with business Shared Services and Specialty leaders, with support and guidance from the HRBP team, by understanding the needs of the business and creating alignment with the overall people strategy
- Management of full breadth of business partnering activities, supporting HRBPs and HR COE members on assigned projects throughout the employee life cycle, including the management of the HRBP team’s Workday transactions
- Work in collaboration with the Recruitment team, including hands on keying of requisitions for certain leaders and assisting with audits as needed
- Contribute to and support annual talent management activities including performance management, goal setting and career development for designated client groups
- Participate in local and global HR projects, as appropriate
- Work in collaboration with the global HR business partnership team, fostering strong relationships and a global mind-set
- Bachelor’s Degree required, major in Human Resources Management, Business Management or other related field preferred.
- 2 years of HR Business Partner and leadership experience required, global experience preferred.
- Experience working within an HR function in a fast-paced global matrix organization.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to navigate, interpret and message data & insights to relevant audiences.
- Demonstrated self-starter with the ability to prioritize a wide range of tasks and work under deadline with the support of the HR Business Partner
- Highly collaborative team-player with a customer-centric mentality and ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and integrity.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Experience in using MS Office suite; Workday experience is preferred.
- Markel offers a hybrid work schedule of 3 days in office and 2 days remote.
