Job Purpose
To oversee the export department in addition to processing both domestic and international airfreight shipments while aligning routing efficiency and service level requirements to ensure compliance with client expectations as well as Marken quality standards.
Main Duties And Responsibilities
- Review export documentation provided by shipper, client and any other Marken affiliates.
- Collaborate with overseas counterparts to align documentation and consignment details during greenlight process.
- Identify ideal routing(s) based on service level requirements and packaging validation timelines.
- Maintain accurate data for key milestones as well as the appropriate costs in the Marken booking platform (Maestro).
- Work directly with our airline partners to book shipments and create MAWB’s.
- Perform export compliance duties such as AES filing and KSMS checks.
- Send export pre-alerts to our teams overseas for outgoing shipments.
- Oversee the day to day teams operations and performance and assist as required.
- Discover training needs and provide coaching.
- Listen to team members feedback and resolve any issues or conflicts
- Assist in Quality investigations to completion.
- Requirements
- High School completion or equivalent
- Air freight/Freight forwarding experience (international & domestic)
- Experience with serving as a liaise between airlines and operations.
- Ensure that all costings are entered and accurate.
- Good customer orientation
- Ability to Guide and delegate
- Great organization skills
- Ability to set goals for improvement and development
- Good knowledge of IATA regulations, including Transportation of Dangerous Goods (if applicable)
- Good problem-solving skills are required in identifying and alerting others to operational problems
- Excellent communication skills. Both written and verbal are required to convey and clarify routine information
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Good organization and time management skills
