JOB OVERVIEW
You will excel as a Director of Sales if you are able to provide the best service to our clients, our customers and your team through exceptional communication, top-notch problem-solving skills, and the ability to be adaptable in a fast-paced environment. This role must be local to the Chicago market.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead for each client and/or project assigned by leadership at MPG
- Manage, develop & mentor a team of direct report(s)
- Expert in Walgreens business model, retail strategic objectives and growth priorities
- Responsible for managing the client engagement from start to finish, taking a lead role in defining the project approach, deliverables, & timetable, and working with analytical team, replenishment team, & industry experts as needed
- Strong focus on quality assurance and accuracy of data and information that is provided to the client
- Provide critical thinking to guide the project team toward developing the client solution
- Work with the project team to identify barriers or obstacles to success and work to overcome them proactively
- Establish an ongoing communication mechanism to share project status, results & insights throughout the broader MPG team (conference calls, meetings, email)
- Demonstrate restless curiosity to identify new business and/or clients
- Serve as a contributor in projects outside of existing clients
- Support client in sample delivery as needed
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
- 4-year undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university
- 10 years of selling or buying experience
- Effective and efficient team management skills with the ability to prioritize, multi-task, & keep projects moving
- Strong communication skills
- Robust knowledge of consumer products industry & category, brand, & retail strategies
- Ability to listen, understand, & resolve competing priorities
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize work to meet deadlines is essential to be successful in this position
- Strong leadership, teamwork, interpersonal and presentation skills
- Ability to interact with diverse personalities at all levels of the organization
