Deep Dive is an entity of The CPG, which provides category management and analytics as the foundation and to further fuel growth. This is a hybrid role based in Minneapolis, MN.

 

JOB OVERVIEW

The Sales Insights Manager is a strategic thought leader, providing best in class insights and actionable go-to-market recommendations. He/she will be responsible for analyzing various data sources, identifying business insights, and crafting creative solutions that drive profitable growth for our business partners.  This position will work cross functionally with sales and vendor teams, creating presentations with selling stories focused on advanced analysis, qualitative / quantitative insights, and trend studies.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and manage all sales and consumer-based information available through syndicated and retailer data platforms 
  • Leverage learnings from cross functional counterparts (e.g., Category Strategy, Consumer Insight, Sales Planning, etc.) to deliver impactful recommendations to the sales team
  • Influence the line review process with shopper insights and data to make recommendations on assortment optimization, planogram space allocation and pricing 
  • Monitor channel shifting and the associated trends reflected in the marketplace
  • Develop presentations and present to key stakeholders (e.g., business reviews, line reviews, product/segment deep dives, shopper insights, etc.)
  • Identify unmet consumer needs and participate in cross-functional teams to develop product, service, and market-space solutions to address 
  • Communicate relevant industry trending information to key stakeholders

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIRED SKILLS

  • 7 plus years’ experience
  • Target experience preferred (buying/planning/supporting)
  • Prior experience influencing decisions with large brands and retailers
  • Restless curiosity with continual creative solutions
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Understanding of Nielsen, Circana and additional syndicated data, marketing research, and current product sales and industry trends
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Power Point
  • Working knowledge of category management and consumer insights
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize work to meet deadlines is essential
  • Strong leadership, teamwork, interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Ability to interact with diverse personalities at all levels of the organization
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to build strong relationships and partnerships
  • Entrepreneurial attitude, agility, and resourcefulness
  • Utmost respect for confidentiality & objectivity
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to self-direct and work autonomously
  • Must meet all pre-employment and post-hire requirements, including but not limited to: background check, drug screening, and motor vehicle review
