Position Overview
MPG seeks a detail-oriented Senior Account Manager to streamline processes and provide strategic support for its Drug Wholesale team. This role will drive high-level client engagement from start to finish, serving as the primary point of contact and ensuring a strong, successful partnership. This position will collaborate closely with one of the teams top tier clients sales, replenishment, analytical, and subject matter experts to deliver data-driven recommendations that enhance sales, expand distribution, improve market penetration, and drive profitability.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Wholesaler and their downstream strategic account customers on promotional programs, activate with strategic downstream accounts, gaining distribution on POGs
- Schedule, create and present Category Reviews on behalf of Supplier
- Manage Wholesaler portal to execute and implement item maintenance, promotions and image requests.
- Manage Supplier forecast by utilizing cut, allocation, supply reports as well as partner with team analyst to understand shipment, sales, inventory and POS data to accurately provide monthly, quarterly and annual forecasts.
- Partner with Supplier’s supply chain team to align on forecasts and seasonal ordering needs.
- Lead communications, calls and initiatives between for Supplier’s internal downstream teams, such as Walmart/Walgreen’s/ Costco to understand suppliers needs and communicate them out to Wholesler.
- Understand and proactively utilize Suppliers reporting – including, but not limited to supply reports, non-shipped reports, allocation and shipment reports, and fill rate reporting.
- Efficiently manage Suppliers trade funding
- Take ownership of deduction management process – retrieving backup and clearing deductions in a timely manner.
- Review business insights and trends for potential opportunities or identify risks
- Performand communicate account management tasks such as pricing updates, discontinued items, return authorizations, TOS updates etc..
- Participate in annual Wholesaler Trade shows – identify Supplier assortment and manage offering process
- Execute weekly and monthly business status updates to Supplier on Wholesaler performance
- Collaborate/communicate with internal Supplier teams such as Sales Strategy, logistics and various sales teams
Skills & Experience
- Proficient in data and sales story telling
- Effective and efficient project management skills with the ability to prioritize, multi-task, & keep projects moving
- Strong communication skills
- Robust knowledge of consumer produtcs industry & category, brand, & retail strategies
- Ability to listen, understand, & resolve competing priorities
Required Experience and Education:
- 4 year degree
- 5 years of selling or buying experience, Dollar General and/or value channel experience preferred
