What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sacker (3pm-12am shift) position at Market Street?
The Sacker is first and foremost responsible for guest relations and satisfaction. He/She performs grocery sacking and other front-end courtesy duties, such as carrying groceries to guests’ vehicles, mopping, sweeping, spill clean-up, general housekeeping, and other front-end duties as may be assigned by management.
Key Responsibilities:
When a guest enters my area or department, my first and most important responsibility becomes to acknowledge, greet, and engage that guest
Help provide ultimate service to guests by sacking and taking groceries to their vehicle
Hustle in and out of the store safely during carry outs
Encourage guest participation in satisfaction surveys
Encourage guest participation in rewards program
Responsible use of resources in order to help ensure the store remains profitable
Follow daily work schedule as assigned by management
Follow dress code in accordance with team member handbook
Follow attendance and tardiness guidelines in accordance with team member handbook
Report spills or item damage to management and replace product for guest in a safe manner (never leave spills unattended)
Perform sacking duties in accordance with video training film to ensure proper handling for guest safety, convenience and value
Move from check stand to check stand as guest flow dictates
Greet and speak politely with every guest; this includes on grocery aisles, in parking lot, etc.
Replace sack supply as necessary
Perform occasional stocker duties as assigned by management; this may include stocking milk, bread and eggs as requested
Performs other duties as requested or required by management
Key Requirements:
Ability to work in fast-paced, but efficient and controlled manner
Ability to perform all physical aspects of the sacker/stocker duties including but not limited to bending, lifting, standing, squatting, climbing, walking and at times running (During peak business hours in particular, must be able to move quickly from parking lot to check stand area)
Ability to lift items weighing up to 80 lbs. on a regular basis
Ability to place items weighing up to 80 lbs. in floor board and trunk space of vehicles
Ability to accept supervisory coaching related to performance, work habits and attitude
Ability to function as a team member and get along with others
