Summary: Marketing Alliance Samples is seeking a reliable and efficient Binding Machine Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating binding machines to secure the sides and corners of rugs with precision and quality. The operator will ensure that each rug is properly bound and meets our production and quality standards.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
- Efficiently operates binding machines to securely bind the edges and corners of rugs, ensuring each piece meets quality standards
- Perform all tasks in a quality-conscious and productive manner, ensuring that every bound rug is free of defects and meets company specifications.
- Perform routine checks and basic maintenance on the binding machine to ensure optimal functionality. Report any issues or malfunctions to management.
- Safely and efficiently change thread, binding tape, and/or needles as needed
- Follow all safety procedures and guidelines while operating the binding machine, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and your teammates.
- Work efficiently to meet daily and weekly production targets while maintaining high standards of quality.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and co-workers to ensure smooth workflow and address any production challenges.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Previous Binding Operator experience required
- Must pass on-site sewing test
- Ability to troubleshoot machine issues and perform basic repairs.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to listen, understand, and follow directions.
- Ability to work in a variety of roles.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and with others in a team environment.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast paced, deadline driven environment, as well as a strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Supervision Received:
Works with minimal supervision. Issues and concerns need to be communicated to supervisor.
Physical Requirements:
- Lifting: Occasionally raises objects from a lower to a higher position or moves objects horizontally from position-to position. Weight is usually less than 50 lbs.
- Push/Pull: Occasionally uses upper extremities to exert force in order to draw, haul or tug objects in a sustained motion. Weight is usually less than 50 lbs.
- Reaching: Extends hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction. Weight is usually less than 50 lbs.
- Sitting: Remaining in a seated position.
- Stooping: Bends body downward and forward at the waist. Weight is usually less than 50 lbs.
- Walking: Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks. In frequently more than 30 minutes at a time.
Manual dexterity as needed to operate a variety of machinery and equipment.
Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions and tolerate exposure to typical noises and smells associated with the plant.
