Job Summary: Creative Plastics is seeking a highly skilled Plastic Injection Tool Maker to join our team in Dalton, GA. The ideal candidate will have experience in designing, fabricating, and maintaining injection molds, specifically for the display industry. The successful individual will be responsible for building, troubleshooting, and maintaining molds used in the production of high-quality plastic display products. This position requires expertise in injection molding tooling, a strong mechanical aptitude, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet production goals.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
- Design and repair Injection mold for plastic manufacturing per specifications delivered by the engineering department.
- Build molds, fixtures, or related tools and complete tooling repairs and revisions in accordance with the blueprint dimensions.
- Setup and operate Tool Room equipment needed to build, repair, revise and service molds, fixtures, and related tools in a correct and timely manner.
- Ensure projects are completed within the quoted time and material limits and communicate any expected delays or budget variances.
- Work independently and with limited supervision.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Knowledge of EDM, CNC, grinders, and manual equipment necessary.
- Must be able to troubleshoot tooling in production when the need arises.
- Must understand complex tooling design and construction and demonstrate an above average mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to listen, understand, and follow directions.
- Ability to work in a variety of roles.
- Strong project management skills.
- Strong working knowledge of the Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.)
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and with others in a team environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to utilize the tact and diplomacy required to foster a team environment while keeping projects on schedule and budget.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast paced, deadline driven environment, as well as a strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Supervision Received:
Works with minimal supervision. Issues and concerns need to be communicated to supervisor.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Five to ten years of design and repair experience for a plastic injection molding manufacturing
- High school diploma or equivalent required. Associates degree a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Lifting: Occasionally raises objects from a lower to a higher position or moves objects horizontally from position-to position. Weight is usually less than 50 lbs.
- Push/Pull: Occasionally uses upper extremities to exert force in order to draw, haul or tug objects in a sustained motion. Weight is usually less than 50 lbs.
- Reaching: Extends hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction. Weight is usually less than 50 lbs.
- Stooping: Bends body downward and forward at the waist. Weight is usually less than 50 lbs.
- Standing: Standing for moderate levels of time. Infrequently more than 30 minutes at a time.
- Walking: Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks. In frequently more than 30 minutes at a time.
Manual dexterity as needed to operate a variety of machinery and equipment.
Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions and tolerate exposure to typical noises and smells associated with the plant.
