Job Summary: Paramount Printing is seeking a detail-oriented Prepress Technician to join our team. This role is essential in preparing and designing high-quality graphics for print advertising, ensuring precise color management, and maintaining consistency across various printed materials. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in graphic design, a keen eye for detail, and experience in prepress production.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
- Develop and design high-quality graphics for print advertising, including signs, posters, and other marketing materials.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to conceptualize and execute design projects that effectively communicate our brand message.
- Utilize color management techniques to ensure accurate color reproduction across different media.
- Apply typography skills to create visually appealing layouts that enhance readability and engagement.
- Conduct quality control checks on printed materials to ensure they meet company standards before distribution.
- Maintain an organized digital library of design assets and project files for easy access and reference.
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in graphic design to continuously improve skills and output.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Proficiency in graphic design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
- Strong understanding of color management principles and typography.
- Ability to work in a variety of roles.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and with others in a team environment.
- Strong written, verbal communication, and organizational skills with the ability to utilize the tact and diplomacy required to foster a team environment while keeping projects on schedule and budget.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast paced, deadline driven environment, as well as a strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Supervision Received:
Works with minimal supervision. Issues and concerns need to be communicated to supervisor.
Physical Requirements:
- Lifting: Occasionally raises objects from a lower to a higher position or moves objects horizontally from position-to position. Weight is usually less than 50 lbs.
- Push/Pull: Occasionally uses upper extremities to exert force in order to draw, haul or tug objects in a sustained motion. Weight is usually less than 50 lbs.
- Climbing: Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, and the like using feet and legs or hands and arms.
- Kneeling: Bending legs at knees to come to rest on knee or knees.
- Reaching: Extends hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction. Weight is usually less than 50 lbs.
- Stooping: Bends body downward and forward at the waist. Weight is usually less than 50 lbs.
- Standing: Standing for moderate levels of time. Infrequently more than 30 minutes at a time.
- Walking: Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks. In frequently more than 30 minutes at a time.
Manual dexterity as needed to operate a variety of machinery and equipment.
Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions and tolerate exposure to typical noises and smells associated with the plant.
