What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Scheduler position at Marketing Alliance Group?
Architectural Surfaces has an immediate full time opening for an experienced Production Scheduler.
The Production Scheduler is part of the production planning team, who has the responsibility for the execution and communication of scheduled labor/machines to supply assembly lines to effectively meet customer orders. This position reports to the Master Scheduler.
Responsibilities
- Generate prioritize schedules by manufacturing work centers based on requirements and capacity constraints to meet parts to assembly targets.
- Balance existing labor and machine capacity to maximize efficiency and production throughput.
- Examine all aspects of the scheduling process, including historical data, to improve production processes wherever possible.
- Utilize system and practical tools created to optimize labor and machine capacities to meet customer order requirements in an effective and timely manner.
- Meets daily with cross-functional team (Production Meetings) to resolve delayed customer shipments, components/parts/sub-assembly shortages, priorities, and identified problems.
- Effectively communicate changes to the leadership team regarding existing job orders, challenges, and capacity forecasting.
- Demonstrate great aptitude for working alone or with a team on any given project.
- Other duties as assigned by Manager.
Position Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree with 6 years directly related work experience in production control, production planning, or work center scheduling specifically for onsite manufacturing or in machine shop environment.
- Must have demonstrated Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; Excel, Word, PowerPoint (i.e. working with pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and conditional formatting).
- Experience utilizing MRP software. Syteline is preferred but not limited to.
- Travel will occur as required between manufacturing facilities.
- Requires strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Must be able to work independently, in a team environment, and drive schedules to completion successfully.
- Accuracy and timeliness are critical.
Physical Requirements - Work is performed in an office environment.
- Stationary work: requiring ability to sit, stand for long periods of time.
- Consistent use of repetitive motion. Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers to view and operate computer, phone, and basic office equipment.
- Occasional lift/push/pull up to 20 pounds
